Often Family Court suggests the use of parenting apps to facilitate communication in matters involving children. There are apps that have core fucntions for free with the option to add paid functions, such as Our Family Wall, whilst other apps are fully paid for or offer an month or two free trial. What works for each family is a matter for them, however, at a time where costs are likely a deciding factor it is helpful to known your options. An app often suggested by the courts is Our Family Wizard. This is generally a paid for app with fees attached as below - however there is a possiblity to waive these fees as detailed below.

Whilst fees will apply in many cases, Our Family Wizard does have the option to apply for a fee waiver if certain criteria is met. To check if you are eligible for the fee waiver scheme, click here where you will be taken to the fee waiver application.
McKenzie Matters is not affiliated to any parenting apps and receives no financial gain from providing links and as such cannot be responsible for information found on their website

Parental Alienation:
Cafcass uses the term alienating behaviour to describe how one parent or carer undertakes and/or expresses negative attitudes and communication about the other parent or carer that have the potential or intention to undermine, manipulate or even destroy a child's relationship with their other parent or carer. Alienating behaviours range in intensity, duration and their impact on children.
Does this sound familiar? I have many clients who report they are being alienated from their children at the hands of the other parent or carer.

Managing court costs
Financing family court can be difficult. More and more people are struggling to pay the traditional costs of a family law solicitor. This can lead to withdrawal of the process due to misconstrued thoughts that you must have a solicitor, unaware that you can navigate the process without one. Legal aid is not often available in most domestic family court matters, but you can check if you are eligible on the Gov.uk website. McKenzie friends can assist you with all the paperwork involved in a family court case in the same way as a traditional solicitor.
